The Monkeys and Two Travelers
Long ago, in a far place, there were two young men, one of them always spoke the truth, but the other the lies. They were traveling together, and by chance came to the land of monkeys. Those monkeys caught the two men with forces and took them to see their king. The monkey king asked these two men, “you two strangers, I want to ask you a question. If you answer correctly, I will release you. First, what sort of do I seem to you?” The man who likes to tell lies said, “you seem to me, a most mighty king.” “And, what is your estimate of others around me?” the king of the monkeys asked. “They are good monkeys just like you!” The monkey king and monkeys were very happy about the lying traveler’s saying. The monkey king then asked the second man, “ what sort of do I seem to you and these my friends around me?” The traveler who always told the truth replied, “a common good monkey, and all other companions are good monkeys too.” The king of the monkeys was very angry and gave him over to the teeth and claws of the monkeys. The man died instantly.
The story tells us, saying the truth is good, but sometimes telling lies is OK! Because the truth maybe will hurt himself and others’ feeling!

preparing for oral exam
Last year, I taught sixth grade and fourth grade elementary students in the YanFeng elementary school. There are about fifteen classes and five hundred student overall. It is hard to remember students' names though I have tried. I always liked to make fun with students. I knew students wanted more amusement during the class. So, I tried to tell them stories in English before each class began. It was great to see their eyes opened wide. Sometimes, I would tell them, if you have studies well, then I would tell more other stories next time. I also asked them to tell story back during the class. I normally gave them stories, such as Sleeping Beauty, Snow White, for them to recite first, then I would give a test about the first paragraph of the story. Most of students can't remember the content beyond the first paragraph. I think speaking should be ahead of reading. I asked them to speak out the story loud, then seeked for those words they haven't learned. If they can speak, then they should have more interests in learning English. Of course, the whole plan needs their main classroom teacher's cooperation and push.
Other than storytelling, I will stress on singing pop songs in my class. It was very interesting to see some students who lacked motivation in studying English would like to sing. As I observed during the class, those who wouldn't open their mouth to read their book, but could sing loudly when I started playing DVD. I was affraid they just sang for fun, so I gave quiz about the song's lyric and asked them to fill words in. I told them in advanced that the test only involved the first paragraph, so they could prepare, otherwise the test score would be ugly. Sometime I would ask them to compete in two groups, many times I asked students came forwards to sing to class and I would add scores for them. Each class had different character, so I had to vary my strategy. Singing songs had become a big activity of my English class. Some class main teachers told me they had spent the lunch break to prepare for my requests. I was surprised singing English songs became a trend at school for lower grade students. And, I was told some classes were anticipated to show their works and complained there was only one class per week. I wonder why some school can have two classes, but others have one in Nantou County. For one class per week, they need extra English studying time, or they tend to forget before the next week class. I found the majority went to cram school, and those who didn't go would suffer and couldn't catch up with the majority. It was a pity to see them falling behind the class.

Summer Vacation
Today is the very first day of vacation. I have plenty of time, except preparing for teacher recruiting exam. This morning I post the great youtube film about Sir Gawain and the green knight. There are more films appended, though one needs to search for them. Hope you like this story. Have a nice vacation to all !!!
Golden Arm
Long ago, in England, there lived a man who traveled all over the place in search of a woman to marry. He saw many wemen, young and old, rich and poor, pretty and plain, but none of his liking. Until one day, he came upon one, she was rich, she was young, she was prettier, and most of all, her left arm was made of shiny gold, from the top shoulder all the way down to the tips of her fingers. He married her at once.
They lived quiet happily in a faraway small village. But, his wife wondered, “does my husband love me half as much as he love my golden arm?” So, everynight, she said to him, “Honey, would you promise, when I die first, would you promise to bury me with my golden arm?” And, everynight, her husband responded, “Of course, dear.” Surely enough this is the story to go on. The wife died before her husband.
In the funeral, the busband wore the blackest dress and put on the saddest face all day long. But at night, he lay awake and couldn’t get to sleep, because he kept on thinking about the golden arm and things that the golden arm could buy with it.
So, he jumped out of bed and walked to the darkest graveyard, dug out the body and cut of her golden arm, hid it under his coat. On the way home, a harsh wind began to blow, he shivered and shook, because the golden arm was as cold as ice.
When he finally got home, he went to bed and put on a cover to warm his body. He hid the golden arm under his pillow. And then, he heard a voice, “who… who…”. At first he thought it would be just the wind, but he listened to it carefully, “who’s got my golden arm?” he knew, he must be hearing something. The voice became louder and louder. And it right outside of his house. “Who’s got my golden arm?” “Where’s my golden arm?”
The man tried to run, but the only exit was the front door. And the voice was coming up. The stairs creaked and groaned, and the voice repeated, “Who’s got my golden arm?” “Where’s my golden arm?” Just then the bedroom door opened. Walked in a ghost, his dead wife, her skin was pale as milk, and her eyes looked nothing. His wife glided to him, but her husband was calm and quiet. He asked his wife, “why are your lips still red?”, his dead wife replied, “it will disappear soon.” “and, why is your cheek still pink?” “it will disappear soon.” “ why is your hair still shiny?” “it will disappear before long.” “and where is your golden arm? It’s not there?” “You, you, it’s you who stole it. Hand it to me. To me!”

teaching experience
I have been teaching in NT county as an elementary English teacher for last four years. Teaching at elementary school has been a great challenge for me. I have taught in large school with more than five hundrend students to take care of. With so many studnets, it's been difficulty to get to know everybody, though I was trying. Students in remote area however prefered more activities and wanted no homework after school, whereas city boys and girls always had finished most required content but waiting to have more fun outside of their English class.
I like to play activities during my instuction that create interaction and have more fun with students. But, I believe learning English need to go through hard work which needs more and more practices. I know elementary students need extra amusement in class, so I usually provide more TPR and stories for them before each class. I look forward to contributing the growth of elementary kids.

“You’re in My Heart” 你在我心中
I didn't know what day it wasWhen you walked into the roomI said hello unnoticedYou said goodbye too soonBreezing through the clienteleSpinning yarns that were so lyricalI really must confess right hereThe attraction was purely physicalI took all those habits of yoursThat in the beginning were hard to acceptYour fashion sense, Beardsly printsI put down to experienceThe big bosomed lady with the Dutch accentWho tried to change my point of viewHer ad lib lines were well rehearsedBut my heart cried out for youYou're in my heart, you're in my soulYou'll be my breath should I grow oldYou are my lover, you're my best friendYou're in my soul
My love for you is immeasurableMy respect for you immenseYou're ageless, timeless, lace and finenessYou're beauty and eleganceYou're a rhapsody, a comedyYou're a symphony and a playYou're every love song ever writtenBut honey what do you see in meYou’re an essay in glamourPlease pardon the grammarBut you’re every schoolboy’s dreamYou’re celtic, united, but baby I’ve decidedYou’re the best team I’ve ever seenAnd there have been many affairsMany times I’ve thought to leaveBut I bite my lip and turn around’cause you’re the warmest thing I’ve ever found

The New Year and New Semester
This semester has just begun, but I haven't gotten the new textbook. I without many choices but asked students to sing a nursery song, "Sing a song of sixpence". Actually, I planned to teach this song last semester, but students wanted to continue the pop songs of Westlife. I smelled that they couldn't handle the pop songs yet, because they lacked of vocabulary. This nursery song however is quite suitable for them. You can check out this song through YOUTUBE.^^
Other than that, I demand them to learn English by listening to CD, with a nice article. They don't know learning English is better to start with listening. I sincerely hope they could listen to more English this semester.
The lunar new year passed quietly. Our family had union dinner together that some people had added to our big family. Two of my nephews married last year. Father was illed for years, but he seemed to notice the union dinner without expression. Doctor warned us about his health.
Besides, I had another union feast from my old baseball team. Many of them came back from China. They all had great business running and they came back every lunar year. It was great feeling to chat once in a year. We had been working so hard to compete with other teams in our childhood and appreciated the moment to stay around nowadays.
Yesterday was 01 09, lunar new year. I couldn't believe this big day wasn't in my calendar. It used to a big day to worthship around my family. Let begone be gone.

HighSchoolMusical2
CHAPTER ONE
The halls of East High School were eerily quiet. The only sound that cound be heard was Ms. Dardus talking, but no one was listening. Every student kept their eye looking at the clock, they did a silent count down to three p.m. in their heads, just that moment the whole school erupted in cheers! Because it was the time to say good-bye to school and hello to summer!
CHAPTER TWO
Two week later, Troy, Jason, Zeke, and Chad piled into Bolton’s kichen after they worked out. Just then Troy’s phone rang! Amad said “This is Thomas Fulton over at Lava spring, I undersatand you’ve been looking for summer work?” Oh! The Wildcats have got jobs!
CHAPTER THREE
Sharpay turned and saw three girls’ named Jackie, Lea, Emma rushing over. They seemed thrilled to have spotted her. Sharpay saw Gabriella looking beautiful in a lifeguard swimsuit, she said “What are you doing here?” “I’m the new lifeguard.” Sharpey was very angry, because she told the man to hire Troy, not all the East School body!
CHAPTER FOUR
Sharpay’s fellow Wildcats did not have alot of work to do, and Mr. Fulton didn’t make it easy for them. he watched them closely correcting them anytime they made a mistake. At the end of work, Sharpay saw Troy and Gabriella were sitting together on a picnic under a tree. Sharpay was angry and want to let Troy and Gabriella cannot have time to be together.
CHAPTER FIVE
Kelsie had written a song for Troy and Gabrielle to sing at the talent show, which later on Sharpay takes (at a faster tempo, higher key) for her and Troy to sing at the talent show.
CHAPTER SIX
The Wildcats were happy to have jobs, they all needed to save money for college, they all should have been working at that very minute. But they were concerned about Troy. As Chad and Jason pushed food carts out to Troy’s table, the others peered from the kitchen door into the dining room.
CHAPTER SEVEN
Sharpay ploted to take Troy away from Gabrielle,by getting him a better job than the rest of the Wildcats. Troy started changing, all for a "scholarship".
CHAPTER EIGHT
Troy meet three star players from the University of Albuquerque basketball team. “Come scrimmage up at our gym tonight,” one of the players said. Troy realized he was in the basketball team then.
Sharpay commanded Kelsi to transpose the key, that was playing for Troy and Gabriella. Sharpay said, “Troy and I will be doing it in the talent show.”
CHAPTER NINE
Troy lied to Gabriella, I just got the days mixed up.” He missed the lunch with Gabriella. Gabriella said, “Italian golf shoes, new clothes, golf carts, that was crazy stuff hard to keep track of it.” Troy replied defensively, “that’s just for my job.”
CHAPTER TEN
Gabriella asked Ryan to direct the employees that could win the Star Dazzle award. In the softball game, Gabriella was in the thick of the action, so when her cell phone rang, she didn’t hear it.
CHAPTER ELEVEN
Sharpay marched out of the clubhouse to look for Troy. As she walked past the pool, she saw shadows coming from the members’ gym. She gasped as she saw the Wildcats rehearsing a dance number directed by her very own brother. She then went back to Ryan, who had been working with the Junior Staffers on an act, who then left her saying she always wanted the spotlight, and she had it. Troy ended up doing the talent show, thinking that he would be performing with Sharpay.
CHAPTER TWELVE
Sharpay told Mr. Fulton, “Tradition change. My parents have important guests coming. We’ll need employee on duty that night.” Gabriella began to empty her locker. She knew that Troy had his own path to follow and she couldn’t really blame him.
CHAPTER THIRTEEN
Troy said to Sharpay, “I’m an employee, and there aren’t any employees in the show.” That evening, there was a festive air at Lava Spring Country Club as a crowd of members, all dressed in their best. Mr. Fulton told Sharpay, “I cannot order Mr. Bolton to sing.” Sharpay thought, “I’m ruined. My life is over!” Troy sighed, “I do the show, if the Wildcats do the show.”
CHAPTER FOURTEEN
Kelsi ran onstage to sit at the piano. Troy met her look with one of confustion, “Why’d you switch song?” Wildcats moved aside and Gabriella stepped onto the stage, singing along with Troy. They sang for a roomful of people with eyes only for each other. They performed the song sweetly and simply, as if gradually built to the finish.
