英文繪本得獎了

陳苑倫老師和本人的英文繪本:飛天掃把的秘密(The Secret of Speeding Broom)得獎了。

A Judo Class
(1) Main characters: teacher and five students.

(2) Not long ago, A major quake struck a remote mountain. People migrated away from the village. Still, some family stayed there.

(3) One year, a teacher came here to teach at the elementary school. He would work for a short year. His class had only five students.

(4) On the very first day, teacher entered the classroom. He said to himself with surprise, "where are my students?"

(5) Students hid themselves in the cabinet. The teacher couldn’t notice them. Students showed up and laughed at the other end.

(6) During the lunch break nap, naughty students dropped roaches into teacher’s back when he was sleeping. Teacher was irritated.

(7) Students had no interest on study. They didn’t want to learn anything. Teacher worried very much.

(8) Students made big noises from time to time. Teacher had to confront with them.

(9) Students liked sports more than study. School asked them to take judo lesson and arranged a big judo contest.

(10) School began judo drills. Students made fun with it at first and the whole class made progress.

(11) As drills went on, students got frustrated. Sometime, they fought each other. Often, they fell to sleep at class.

(12) Students finally felt drills were not funny any more. They wanted to quit.

(13) Teacher said,” if you don’t practice judo, you should finish homework instead.” They needed to choose one between judo and study.

(14) Students chose to study. They realized reading was easier than practicing judo. They would be quiet and study from then on.

(15) However, the judo contest was set in the beginning. School wanted them to complete it. Students were asked to do more drills no matter what.

(16) Teacher said, “when there is a will, there is a way.” They couldn’t believe they won the final contest. The victory was sweet and anything deserved it after all.

準備製作繪本 一

先把自編故事分成16~18節 。
飛天掃把"The Speeding Broom"

(1)Main characters:
Witch
Flower the cat
East the mouse
King of ants

(2)Long ago, there lived an old witch.
She liked to fly a broom.

(3)She had a speeding broom.
She remembered she had won the speeding contest last year.
“I have to win it again this year,” she said.

(4)One day, she took out the broom and tried to fly the broom.
“I must forget the secret of the broom.”
The broom couldn’t even move.

(5)She looked over the cave.
“Where is my magic book?” she said to Flower, her cat.
Flower the cat showed up immediately.

(6)Last time, Flower was punished with no food for three days.
This time, he responded and reacted much quicker.
He said, “I wonder East the mouse might steal it“

(7)“Then, let’s go find him. I am going to drown him in a cage.”
The witch and Flower the cat met an elephant on the way.
Elephant told them,
“East the mouse is playing by the river.”

(8)The next, witch and Flower met a wolf.
“Wolf, have you seen East the mouse?”
“Yes, he is playing by the river,” wolf said.

(9)The third, witch and Flower met a rabbit.
“Rabbit, have you seen East the mouse?”
“Yes, he is playing by the river,” rabbit said.

(10)They finally came down to the river and saw the river was flooded.
Yesterday a heavy rain fell hard.
Flower the cat yelled in a hurry, “Oh, no. Something float in the middle of the river.”

(11)The witch gave a spell in no time. There up in the air, a bird suddenly became an eagle and saved East the mouse from the river.

(12)The witch asked unhappily, “you, the pity East, did you steal my magic book?”
“No, of course not.”
“But I saw some ants walking around the cave yesterday.”

(13)The witch hurried back to the cave, and found the magic book stayed nearby. It seemed there were something underneath. Some ants were pressed down by the magic book. The witch picked up the magic book and saved those ants alive.

(14)The king of ants said, “Sorry, Highness the witch, we are deeply sorry to steal the magic book. We just try to make more apples on the tree. Somehow, the book became heavier and pressed down all of us.”

(15)The witch said, “OK, you are all punished already, I don’t want to hurt you. Go to work, and don’t be lazy.”

(16) The old witch examined the magic book why her broom couldn’t fly. Oh, it was because she forgot to add in gasoline. The broom ran out of gasoline.

(17)The witch asked Flower to buy some gasoline. Flower brought back gasoline 98 octane unlead. The broom then groaned and shaked. It seemed there was no way to stop it.

(18)Last year, the witch won the contest with gasoline 95 octane unlead. This year, she applied with gasoline 98. Did anyone guess right who would win this contest?
