Sometimes

"Do you believe ghost?", my teacher asked. I replied, "Sometime." I forgot what he intended to ask for. I just remembered to bring back to our topic and had made peers laughing. We were learning this song by Britney in our English song class. I think Britney's voice was energetic and sounded. I like her songs very much and her simple lyrics too. The rhyme, melody, and background were grogeous. I had listened this song many times, yet I couldn't catch every word. I was glad teacher brought up this song, then I could appreciate it thoroughly. "Sometimes I run, sometimes I hide, sometimes I'm scared of you, but all I really want is to hold you tight." Well, who could possibly write such great song? The song seems picking everybody's emotion.

Anxiety

Anxiety is a word of fear. I made a mistake last week. I thought it was a state of eagerness. There is a book published by Alain de botton, "Anxiety statue", which was recommended by my friend. I have searched the website, http://www.alaindebotton.com/status.htm I am still working on comprehanding the materials inside. Hopefuly, I have some comments about the fancy stuff.

Self-concept

Self-concept has influence. Franken described self-concept as a strong tendency to find motivation and behavior and worthwile deriving the intended target and ideal of those activities. Postive self-concept student has stronger incentives to endure patiently difficulties and challenge through hard work. On the other hand, the negative student gets lower achievement. Therefore, how to help students to promote the self-concept is quite a topic in school.

a break

I had studied for months just to take an exam last Saturday. It was finished, but we all had extraordinary experience along with the exam. It was scary and thrilling. The exam was supposed to be easy as everybody expected, but it was not. The exam covered a variety and had so many questions that we had never learned from our teacher program. Some of our classmates said they couldn't pass it for sure, and I am up in the air that my mutiple parts are fair and I need the grader to add some scores on my question part in order to pass the exam. Hopefully, they wouldn't give lower grade on that part. Amen.

平仄

There is only a week ahead for my exam. I don't know who can finish all the preparation because it is so easy to forget what one has read. The Chinese cousre is also a pain for me. Until now, I have hard time to distinguish between 平仄。I know 陰平和陽平, but it comes to those poems, every word seems to be 仄 all of a sudden. I don't know why. I guess I have to cross my fingers if it happens on the exam sheet.

Psychology

I am reading the book written by 張春興. It is hard to believe that this book has been published for thirteen years. I had never taken psychology course, but the content of the book looked so familiar to me. I am wondering all my readings related to psychology are indeed extracting and refering from this book. However, as I check the edition of the book, it is so scary that there is no other edition. This book is still in its first edition. I hope the auther can proceed his extraordinary work and add some materials to it.

Critical Pedagogy

"Agog" is considered as a word root for leading, and pedagogy is equal to instruction. Critical pedagogy is to think deeply about the benefit of eduction. What education can do for our living nowadays? We know that modern society is complicated. Since the revolution of industry and the creation of computer, the machines take place of labour greatly. Many people tend to lose their jobs, while others collect their wealth through technology such that the gap between the rich and the poor widen than before. The education, however, plays a major role for social mobility that some people can promote their living levels to high standards. Eduction makes people awareness about their situations and acts as motivation tool. Teacher should be empowered to improve the system of the eduction. In Taiwan, we have seen many examples that some peolple take advantages of eduction and become later scholars, businessmen, and lawyers. I hope the education can separated from the political influences and provide more equal chances for our whole society.

Rhythm of Education

Who said the words, "rhythm of education"? He is Alfred N. Whitehead. Today, I want to write his name on my reflection. I am obliged to him because he also mentioned the thought of western society was only two routes, one is Plato's idealism and the other is Aristotle's realism. I didn't take western literature course, so I couldn't know very well about the content. I had tried hard to study educational philosophy, but in vain, there were so many theories and names assoicated with. After I read Whitehead's comment, I realized the simplicity of the western culture. When I followed my study, I also found the great Chinese didn't go as two routes as western thought. Chinese tended to ride on the idealism for many century. However, the generation proceed as we live now is no long as simple as what Whitehead used to say, two routes only. The post-modernism is developing into a variety. We no long live with philosophy, and we need to examine the enviroment around us. In the end, we have to take account for other theory like critical theory, phenomenology, and Hermenentics. Life becomes complicated, doesn't it?
